A picture is worth a thousand words. An interview or presentation without any visual medium, it is difficult for the public to stay awake! Is Why which uses the image of boxes of Tip Top in my books and interviews. If you want your presentation to be a source of motivation and inspiration you need advice on the creating and using visual aids.
First make sure that everyone in the audience can see clearly their vision.
Here is a list of major types of visual support materials normally available:
Flip-chart
Slate
Table (slate)
Overhead
Projector 35mm slide
Digital projection computed
Audio-visual – videos, direct link to the TV, closed circuit television
Physical objects – models, products, packaging, etc.
Stage Assistant
Use visual aids awareness increases dramatically. People take much, if no more information through their eyes, to see with their ears. Visual tools can convey messages clearly. The information is presented visually is received and processed faster than words only and any assistance to improve retention. Visual aids also encourage attention. It is a fact that people can think faster than they can speak. By giving them something to do helps to keep focused on your message.
Using visual aids and give him something to do! Moving around helps your nervous energy dissipate.
During the initial briefing from the client should ask what kind of support is used to display during the conference. It may be that basic services will be provided, but it is also possible that you may be required to comply with it. If you know in advance what media are available on the site, then this will help in planning.
Knowing, for example, the number of slides need for a presentation in May and are to some extent your client and your audience. Some organizers of the conference speakers do not prefer their use Visual AIDS at all!
Some stakeholders also believe that visual aids are unnecessary and distracting. They say his oratorical skills to create images in the minds of the delegates, without accessories. I will discuss the presentation platform in a later article, but for now I'd say if you are the presenter very talented and experienced, you need to add some visual stimulation delivery.
The length of your presentation will determine the visual how many should be used. Work based on an illustration of four minutes of his talk. Do not let the pictures showing a moment longer than necessary, because you may start to divert attention, especially if you move to another point.
Includes graphic illustrations of your team as often as possible. (For reasons of simplicity I call the "leaves", but a graphic illustration can be a visual aid, however produced). People like to see photos and a good image can really add clarity and dimension to her words. I prefer to use photographs instead of clip art or cartoons. Clip art is a relic of the 1980s, and unprofessional. The cartoons are acceptable in small quantities. Never let your speech to become a more appropriate mechanism for children's television!
With digital camera prices falling every day, why not make your own photos? A shot or two of something relevant to the conversation can easily be include in your presentation, and saves the cost of an expensive professional photographer. Digital cameras are great because you can take a number of shots with slight variations, and then choose the best.
If you need to include graphics or tables in your presentation, be extremely selective. I've lost count of the number of presenters, I seen the error of thinking that many cards to motivate and inspire audiences. The opposite is true!
A chart or table after another off quickly your audience. Observe and study is the first slide, while listening to your comment. Slide the second and will look to hear some of what you say, but experience has shown which by its third graph or table that has lost the attention of their delegates.
In section four of this series which will advise on the creation and use of visual aids to produce motivational and inspirational speeches.
